Woodland ice (pastel, mounted)

Painted on site in the woodland near to my home in Harrogate at Hookstone on a wintry day in January. The winter light was beautiful on the iced over water with the orange remnants of autumn breaking up the snowy landscape. Painted quickly (ecause of the cold!) with expressive pastel strokes.
