Winter Waters (mixed media, mounted)

Painted on site on a cold but bright winter's day at Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales. The winter sun casts a luminous glow on the river and its banks making for an enticing mixed media subject. Acrylic inks were initially laid to form a tonal base on which soft pastel was then applied in an expressive way.
