Valley Pathways (pastel, mounted)

This is a favourite location of mine in the Yorkshire Dales close to Stump Cross Caverns, a popular tourist attraction, but on a track where very few people walk. Painted on site in early March with a beautiful sun highlighting the landscape but without any warmth! It was so cold that I had to pack up after an hour with freezing fingers but I was able to complete the painting back in the studio.
