While thinking of title for this work I came across the quote from Vladimir Nabokov which seemed to sum up perfectly my thoughts. I wonder at the power and sheer size of our seas and I sought to convey this in a brooding image created using washes of watercolour, to which liquid graphite was then added before finishing touches were made with soft pastel.
