Glencoe Waters (pastel, mounted)

There are few places to match the magical beauty of the Pass of Glencoe. This view was painted from a lay-by on my way home from Skye - there are not many lay-bys like this! Painted quickly on site holding a brollie in one hand, until it was blown out!. I kept going until the rain became heavy but the need for speed added, I think, something to the expressiveness of the painting.
