Painted on site in late autumn above Danby in the North York Moors, looking down a farmer's track bordered by the russet colours of spent ferns. As I stood painting, two motorcyclists zoomed up the track and past me, cycling over my pastel box! fortunately, serious damage was somehow avoided!
