Falling Burn (mixed media, mounted)

High in the Scottish hills runs a burn (stream) with ice cool water as old and fresh grasses provide colourful contrasts. Washes of watercolour were first applied to provide an energetic tonal background before vigorous mark making with soft pastels completed the painting.
