Drift Lane, November (mixed media, mounted)

This location is a favourite, close to where I live in Yorkshire. The Lane is lined by hawthorns and a variety of wild flowers and lies amid beautiful countryside. This was painted on site looking towards a bright sun (contre jour), using washes of water soluble graphite and watercolour to form a base on which pastel was then applied with expressive strokes
