Above Gunnerside, Swaledale (mixed, mounted)

I love the Swaledale Valley that the River Swale runs through for its dramatic long distance views and picturesque villages. This view is from above the village of Gunnerside looking down the Valley, painted in late summer as the hills begin to turn from predominantly green to a mixture of green, red, brown and orange and foreground grasses turn a creamy yellow. A must for the artist! Painted using mixed media to create and expressive underpainting on which soft pastel is then applied.
